More paste. Rice. Eggs. You're right, they aren't in the refrigerator, that's more of an American thing - we do a lot of funny things with food that don't make a lot of sense and are over cautious. Lastly, field crabs - sometimes they smash these up in a salad made from unripened papaya, called Som Tum.
